If you are delivering at Danbury Hospital:
Upon the arrival of your baby the hospital pediatricians will care for your baby. The hospital staff will obtain the name of your pediatrician and document it in the baby's chart. At discharge the hospital pediatrician will notify you when you need to be seen in our office, it is usually 1-2 days after discharge. We are able to print out the records from Danbury Hospital only. We will call you before they are discharged to schedule the first appointment, but sometimes you will call us first.
If you are delivering elsewhere:
Upon delivery of your baby the hospital pediatricians will care for your baby. Please make sure you sign a medical record release form for your baby and obtain a copy of the baby's discharge note. The hospital pediatricians will inform you when the baby needs to be seen next, it is usually 1-2 days after discharge. We will fax a request to get records faxed to us, but if the release form is not done then we will not be given any medical records. We need your baby's medical records to provide appropriate care.
